Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Not sure what you call them, but have you used any pool sling or carrier so you can be hands free in the pool?

I know I do better with buckles and a carrier. Ds is big and heavy and doesn't like his feet in a sling.

Any experience? Good or bad reports? Thanks!

I have a mesh ring sling that I have used successfully. I wear Lydia on my hip, so her feet are not in the sling - just her bottom and back.

I also had a mesh pouch sling that I know is *supposed* to be easier, but I never could seem to get the hang of it. I feel better with the rings that I can tighten.

I purchased both on ebay from WAHMs.

I've just bombed terribly on the slings and pouches and wraps, so that's my apprehension, especially when it's really important to safety to have him tucked up tight.

I saw a pool carrier at a local baby store, but can't find the brand. The baby would sling on the hip.

Then I saw Porpoise Pouch Baby Carrier

and WaterKid which is similiar.

Anyone? My son is close to the weight limit, but it's just for the summer. Otherwise I can't take them to the pool during the day, since I can't be with my other son who can't swim.

I put James and Joseph in the Baby Bjorn in the pool, and it looks very similar to those you're linking. I just washed it a lot.

I have a Sachi solarweave mei tai. I really like it! Last week I took all 4 children to the pool by myself. I wore the baby in the carrier and he fell asleep as we swam    Another benefit is the extra sun protection of the solarweave fabric.

I've used a wrap (front cross) made of a light cotton... I think I got cheesecloth? (non stretch, fairly see-through)

I made sure to tie it fairly firmly, so that Bilby was as high as possible, and I was able to pretty much 'forget' I had her with me, and could chase around after Puggle. (This was when she was _much_ younger... 4/5 months old, this last summer she would have objected _strongly_ to not being allowed to swim:-) )

My sister pointed out to me that we're not tall enough to wear the baby in the sling, especially the low riding one. Seems like I could only be in 3 feet deep water to make sure baby doesn't get immersed.

I'm only 5' 2", my sister is even shorter.
