Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Okay girls are lots easier than the boys name requirements!

First name has to be a saint.
First name can't start with the letter, A, B, C, D, E, J, K , or T. Verdict is out on if M or R is okay. Guess it depends on the name!

I'll start here too.

I love Francis still and dh still hates it.

We've already picked the middle name, but we don't have a first name that makes it "ring" for us as being meant to be for this baby, kwim? Where you say what about __ ___ and it just seems like that fits this little person? We'll change the middle name if this one just isn't meant to have it.

And I'm not telling you the middle name just yet.

Hi,
I know you said no "C" or "K" names. Are you trying to avoid hard "C" names? I suggest Cecelia.
God bless,

Gianna is one of my new favorite saint names. I also like Paula, Victoria and Susanna (Susan?) are nice, too. I tend to like names that don't end in a "y" sound - and I also think of how names will look on business cards, for what that is worth. I like Rose and Rosalie (OK, she's a Blessed), with the right middle name.

I hope this jump-starts the discussion!

not avoiding hard "c" names - we already have a Cecilia!
I like Susanna, but he has an aunt Susan he isn't fond of.

I like Veronica too!

Mary Frances
Mary Grace
Mary Catherine
These would all be the child's actual first name, like John Paul.

The single names that I like all start with the letters that you said are out.

I had a teacher named Ave Maria; she gave that name to her daughter, too. She went by "Ave."

We considered Genevieve for awhile. We were going to call her Ginny (I like Harry Potter).

I also thought about Gabrielle.

And if I was willing to take the Harry Potter thing too far I could consider Hedwig, but I'm not sure that I would do that to a child. Well, maybe as a middle name.

A friend named her daughter after Zelie-Marie Guerin, the mother of St. Therese of Lisieux.

Gianna has become pretty popular around here.

I've always liked Frances (spelled with an e) but, like yours, my husband doesn't.

Michaela is the name we love if God gives us another girl someday.

Okay here's the name *I* like.
Dh likes them all, but not all 3 together.
I think having 2 middle names sounds kind of regal.

Phoebe Gabriella Noelle Lastname

of course, even if we have a girl, the name may end up being completely different.

still open to suggestions.

I tell you what Barbara, if our cat wasn't already named Hermione - that'd be it for sure!

Phoebe Gabriella Noelle Lastname is Too. Much. Name. I'm sorry! Don't hate me!

I like Phoebe Gabriella, and I *love* Phoebe Noelle. I'm with your picky hubby on this one, all three together is too much of a good thing. If you really want two middle names, I think they need to be shorter and more plain, like Phoebe Anna Noelle or Phoebe Marie Noelle or something.

I have to agree with Philothea and LisaR about multiple middle names. I have a niece named Gabriella Angelita Esmeralda last name and the last name is 10 letters long! Phew! I'm tired just typing that out

I like names that are not too common. We were going to name our daughter Hannah Marie but there was 5 other pregnant women that were going to name their babies the exact same thing so we opted for my favorite saint and so our daughter is named Bernadette. Naming her after a saint has been great for evangelization. Non-Catholics love the name and ask where we came up with it and were only too happy to tell about that great saint's life.

I love the names Felicity and Marian Grace.
