So far this week I have decluttered most of the upstairs, taken up rugs, vacuumed, shampooed the carpets, rearranged our bathroom furniture, washed half the legos, and pressed my husband into service by having him hang up new hooks in the kids' bathroom, and it's only Tuesday! Don't even ask what's on my list for the rest of the week.
What does nesting look like at your house?
BTW, how do you dry legos? I have a laundry basket full sitting on my kitchen counter....

How funny Rachel I just posted about mine here!
Glad to know I'm not alone right now!

With my first, I was too tired from working full-time outside the home to even think about nesting. With my second, I ended up taking q-tips to the stackable washer/dryer we had in our apartment. That's when I knew I was over-the-edge nesting.
I'm scared to think about what will happen with this one. There are so many prime candidates for deep cleaning around here. I'm not the most fastidious housekeeper to begin with, and I've been cutting back on housework to conserve calories the past two months. It paid off; I gained 8 lbs at my last check-up. Too bad the house is a wreck.

Oh I wish I was in that stage! I have grand plans, but not enough energy yet. Almost, but not enough.
Could you dry legos like spinach? In a towel and wring it around your yead? Just a small group at a time maybe...

You know my husband and I have an issue with the term "nesting"...
He thinks that nesting is a "building" term, so when I'm "building" a stack of books (mothering books or lit. books) next to my bed or the couch, he calls that nesting. I'm lying in my nest (aka couch or bed) with my stack of sticks (aka books) all around me waiting for the "egg" to hatch...
It's funny that we both share the same erroneous view of what nesting is...
We're not sure what to call it when I go around cleaning the house like a madwoman... a miracle?

Rachel -
I've not done this, but an idea that crosses my mind about drying legos is this: Tie them up in a pillowcase and put them in the clothes dryer on air fluff, or whatever setting will blow air but not heat.
You really ARE looking for places to put that nesting energy if you've come to washing legos!
When will you be meeting your Pumpkin, by the way?
Peace,
Nancy

Rachel, just wanted to add -- truly... you are the X-games of pregnancy nesting. It would never enter my mind to WASH Legos!!

You guys might be a bit far off to smell our legos , but I feel like I can smell them anywhere in the house. Yesterday after cleaning them out of the 5x3 closet filled 4" deep (this is a sick # of legos by they way), I vacuumed it out. I could smell the saliva in the carpet!
I ended up laying them out on a sheet on the living room floor after the kids went to bed, and then turning on the ceiling fan. Everything was dry this morning and got bundled back into the basket until the closet is shampooed, but my problem now is that I want to shampoo downstairs AND wash the rest of the legos today, so where to put them to dry? Maybe I'll have to shampoo one room tomorrow night.
It's good to see that I'm not the only one overcome by this "madness". I seem to remember not long ago, Maryan was DUSTING HER BASEMENT! Honestly, are you supposed to clean the basement?
Let's see, if we don't call it nesting, it's the right time of year to pretend it's just a very thorough Spring Cleaning...or I could blame it on my cheesemaking kit that said to clean the kitchen thoroughly before starting....
This little one is due Divine Mercy Sunday (March 30). Isn't that fun? I can't wait to see what all gets done before she/he arrives.

And... I'm still doing that... I keep hoping if the basement is REALLY clean -- we'll be inspired to finish it off!
And... hmm... I like that Q-tip idea too!! There's just something wrong with dirt in the cracks in a machine used to clean...
Maybe with all your extreme nesting "pumpkin" will show up for Easter!
