Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wondering if I could once again ask all of your help?!? What is something I could buy for my friend with five little ones when she moves into her new home? I want it to be practical yet useful. Any suggestions would be most welcome! I am getting just for her a big basket of bath items b/c her tub is huge. I just want to get them a family gift too.

TIA!

Marybeth.......I think my all-time favorite family gift when I was a kid..........was when someone gave us ice cream dishes.........and all the fixings for banana splits, including the bananas!

We have a tradition of having banana splits every new Year's Eve. I hope someday to get some dishes for my family to celebrate.

Let us know what you decide. You are very thoughtful to think of your friend!

Hmmmm......a couple of favorite card games my kids like could work, too: Swap (for all ages), Phase 10, SET, and then of course, UNO and.....sheesh.....I am having a blank on that other game.....

Till we meet again...... :)

I had five little ones when we moved in to this house, and Elizabeth sent us a big basket of delectable treats (both sweet and savory). It was certainly a welcome present and appealed to all ages.

BTW, when I first moved, I felt as if I was drowning in boxes and "stuff" that needed to be processed. Edible gifts are ideal because you don't need to find a place for them along with everything else being unpacked.

Now I immediately thought of a family game they could play....but then I read Alice's point about "stuff" and realized food might be better --

If she has a big kitchen, how about something fun like an ice cream maker or a popcorn popper?

Try to think about what is different about this house and pick something that fits. Our new house is more than three times the size of our current one. The kids are full of ideas for new appliances or furniture that there just is not room for in our current house.
