Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used My Brest Friend - and is it only needed if you have a c-section and/or preemie? It is very pricey - and the only reason I would look at it is if I had a c-section or preemie - or because I have had neck problems and I was hoping to avoid these resurfacing with nursing the new little one. I never used the Boppy pillow - tried a friends and never really liked it.

Thank for any opinions.

Marilyn, My only experience was post c/s, but I swear by My Brest Friend. The nursing help at the hospital really encouraged having support under the baby so you don't lean over, but suggest using a flat surface pillow. Boppy is more awkward. There might be another brand pillow support that doesn't attach all the way around, but you want it to be flat. I get the neck pain easily. With a smaller baby especially it's ideal.

My sil who didn't have a c/s got a MBF, used it and loved it.

Love it, love it, love it!!!! I know many people who swear by it, c-section or not. It really helps my back by supporting my lower back. I got it almost 4 years ago before the birth of my first ds, and just replaced the cover at the end of last year. Not because it was worn out, but because they re-styled the pillow and added a clip to take it off and on versus just the big (LOUD) velcro strap that used to wake baby up when you tried to take it off. Now it is a breeze to quietly slip off and on. I still use it with ds who is 6 months old now.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Cindy, I want to get the new one because of this improvement. That velcro strap was so loud. It would wake up poor dh each time.

It's great if you already own the original pillow, because you can get a replacement cover rather than have to re-purchase the whole thing. I'll try to find the link to the site I purchased my cover from - it's so nice and soft for baby.

They also make one that is inflatable so you can take it with you anywhere.

I usually only use mine for a few weeks, but I couldn't do without it!

So glad to hear about the new cover. I hate the velcro, too!

So I got my new cover from Baby Center. I paid $19 for it (worth EVERY penny, btw), but I see it's on sale for $17.10 now. Bummer. FWIW, I got the Deluxe cover, and am so pleased with it.

I'm so happy! Thanks so much, Cindy! About a year ago Pottery Barn Kids offered this pillow with this Deluxe cover, and I really wanted the soft cover and non velcro straps. You saved me a tremendous amount of money, and dh isn't going to need an explanation on WHY do I need another one.....

I went through the same conversation with my dh - haven't we discussed before how similar they are? - and he was much happier with the less expensive option as well. The Deluxe is definitely comfy - I even like to rub my hand on it .Glad to have helped.

Thanks for all the info. I am convinced. I have even managed to find a gently used one at a greatly reduced cost - (owned by a nurse at the Birthing Inn who has even offered to drop it off at my house - when she heard I was on modified bedrest!!)
