Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We found The Wind in the Willows movie at the library and what a treat! It has nice stop-motion animation and the dialogue comes from the book. It's not all the text in the book but what is in the movie is in the book. I think it'd be funny for kids before they read the book but especially funny after they've read the book. We enjoyed it a lot.

Love,
Kelly in NC

Kelly, I find that it helps alot with encouraging ourselves and our children to enjoy reading with a passion.

Watching a movie and then feeling you really have to read the book that it may of been based on is a way of enjoying the plot from two different perspectives or trying to get double the enjoyment of it all.

I saw Nicholas Nickleby recently, absolutely loved it! - never had taken a fancy to want to read it before then now I am trying to track down the book!

Then I read Pride and Prejudice years ago and just had to watch the movie since I had heard that it was very faithful to the book - but I just really loved that movie for it's imagery and the way it made me feel.

Then you have ones like Lord of the Rings where I had read it way before as a teenager, then I saw the movies and have been re-reading it on and off/over and over since and with such new images in my head and a better understanding of certain parts of the book, since it is such an in-depth read. I don't imagine I will ever put it down completely.

I don't know which version you saw of Wind in the Willows (or if there are more than one) but the one my children have seen they loved very much. Interestingly enough I haven't read it to them yet but I think it was because they were very young when they saw it, but it is sitting on our shelves - we should probably pick it up!

It looks like my library has it , so we've placed it on hold.
We have an audiobook version of this book, and the children just love it. Can't wait to see the video.

How funny! I just checked this out at our library last week.

We'll watch it today!

We like this version of Pride and Prejudice for its character development, the tension between the characters, and the incredible English landscape and estates. I've been a great fan of Jane Austen for just forever but when I saw this movie it fleshed out all the things we couldn't *see* in the book.

God bless,

Have not seen the version of WITW you entered above, but we like this version. Vanessa Redgrave narrates to a few children as they row down a river. It's very well done and one of my children's favorites.

God bless,

Too funny..Kelly and Maria! We just checked out WITW, too...and that version! The children loved it, even though it is just segments of the book.
