Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...are starting here today!

There are so many wonderful Christmas books out there, and every year we enjoy greeting these old friends again. They are award worthy!

What are the all time winners at your house?
You can cast your votes and/or add more categories of your own.

The Oscars here go to:

A Small Miracle for Best Wordless Picture Book.
I love the pictures in this book- we see something new each time we look at it. It is a wonderful story.

Father Christmas and the Donkey for Best Christmas Animal Book
Here I love the story line, but also the silver and blue shimmering illustrations that give way to color as the morning dawns

The Donkey's Dream for Best Christmas Pictures
The pictures in this book just seem to glow and have a life of their own.

The Dolls' Christmas for Best Whimsical Christmas Book
Who can resist Pumpkin House?

Christmas Day in the Morning for Best Selfless Gift Book

Too Many Tamales Best Humorous Christmas Book

Strega Nona and Big Anthony for Best Characters in a Christmas book

Best Nativity Book? Jury is still deciding here...there are so many good ones!

The Miracle of St. Nicholas gets my vote for Best Christmas Miracle book! This one left me with so much hope! We read a few great Christmas miracle books this year, but this one stands out to me the most.

An Orange for Frankie gets my vote, too, for best nonfiction book.

It wasn't till this year, though, that I flipped that back page and read down far enough to discover that was Frankie's last Christmas .
A tear jerker! I didn't pass that on to the kids... maybe someday
