Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone else do this? When I come to 4Real, I have my library's online system open in another window. Then I can zip over and put on hold all of the recommendations! Occasionally, I'll have another window open to Amazon, just in case it's a book my library doesn't have it. You all have been such a blessings to me and we have read quite a wealth of great books. My dh and dad are working on plans to completely shelve two walls of our study--floor to ceiling, about 25 linear feet! I'm so excited about the possibility!

Blessings,

Yes! Yes! I do that. And end with a lot of books and then sometimes I have to return them without reading them because I just can fit one more book! Then I write them down on my ever growing list of TO READ books and hope for sometime... maybe in the Summer?

In addition to that, I sometimes put a really awesome looking book in my shopping cart at Amazon. For a grand total of 3 internet browsers open.

Currently, my shopping cart at Amazon has hundreds of dollars worth of 'someday' purchases!

May God Bless the 4 Real Learning message board/yahoo group and all those associated with it!

I do this all the time! Right now, I have two monitors connected to the same computer (because of hubby's work), so it makes it SO easy to see everything at once. I'm about to downgrade to one monitor again, though. I'm sure it will be a rude awakening fitting all of those windows on one screen!

I having been in continous contact with my library since this message board started. I have also spent a small fortune in books and tapes.

The librarian just called a few minutes ago to tell me tht yet another book I ordered from this thread is in. When I open up this thread or the Book Lovers one I have been automatically opening our library website as well.

We have read the Boxes for Katje, the Fanny Farmer book and a bunch of Cynthia Rylant based on this thread.

Thank you all!

Ooo...and lucky me, my library has a place for my "wish list." This way I don't have to borrow everything NOW...although I often want to .

God bless,

I am just so tickled about this!

I checked HOMEPLACE out of the library based on the recommendations here--can't wait to read it this afternoon.

I've added a couple more picture book recommendations to my blog in the [Picture Book Discoveries category -- It's Not My Turn to Look for Grandma by April Wayland and One Day in Elizabethan England by G. B. Kirtland.

Waah waah waah! Okay, just kidding, but I really think I miss access to a library more than anything. I do have a home education allowance, so I'm able to buy quite a lot of books, but then they take forever to get here. My dh is in Thailand right now, and I ordered a bunch of books for a little Thailand unit study, and they still haven't arrived. Ah well...it is a small thing in the big scheme.

Oh, and I have to recommend checking http://www.bookcloseouts.com for any books which are recommended here. They have amazing prices, though the selection varies. Yet another browser window to open.

Now here's another thing I do: whenever I get a new catalog (particularly Highlights and Cricket, but lots of others as well), I sit down with it and the library website and run up my holds. I know you all must do that, too! This last Cricket magazine turned up a bunch of gems!!
