...to share good picture book titles. Ever play the game where you say the name of a song or a movie, then another person has to think of a song (or movie) that begins with the last letter of the one named, and so on with each one named? You can do it with any word or title. So who's game to try it with picture book titles? I'll start.
Blueberries for Sal (Robert McCloskey)
The title ends with the letter "L" so the next book needs to start with the letter "L" (ignore a, an, the, etc. - so start with first main word).
So the next book suggestion could be:
The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear (Don and Audrey Wood)
That one ends in "R"
Your turn...

Strega Nona by Tomie de Paola -- changing up the "S" pattern!
(Mary, I read your subject line as "I've got game.." and that just didn't sound like you so I had to click on the thread -- thank you, DH, who just brought me my second cup of coffee -- guess I need it! )

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Dayby Judith Viorst
I don't even particularly like this book, but that isn't a qualifier, is it?
So, "Y" now.

Angie....plays as many times as it makes you happy.....you are only hogging the ball if you keep naming books after your OWN posts

Oh, good. I've been sitting on my hands wanting to put in other ones.
This reminds me of the board game where you have to sing a song or part of the song with a certain word. Can't remember the name of that game, but we loved that one. I could play this one for a long time!

Me either...interestingly when I was a new mom I knew a mom in a breastfeeding support group here who was married to "Tony" from that book. So "Alexander" was her brother-in-law - Judith Voirst was her mother-in-law.
Glad everyone is enjoying the game.
I'll jump in with the next one starting with "S"!
The Story of Ferdinand - Munro Leaf
I love that story. Lots of kindergarten-aged memories with that one. Did anyone see Blindside - the movie with Sandra Bullock? Great scene about read-alouds with that book.

Interesting! I never liked that book, either. It goes against my grain on how we learn to be cheerful and offer things up.

Edward the Emu by Sheena Knowles and Rod Clement
It is a simple story about feeling good about who you are and learning to like yourself. This was very comforting to read when my ds's anxiety was terrible at ages 5&6.
Marybeth
PS We just got Ferdinandout of the library to read aloud with Daddy. He had never heard of it and mentioned it to us while watching Blindside.
