Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

by Louisa May Alcott. Ok this is not exactly a picture book but the stories are tremendous. They are complete fairy stories that have such a purgatorial and penence message. I can't tell how Catholic these are. The plot weres a little thin throughout the collection of fables but she does a phenemonal job of slamming in the Christian point of view. In every story, there is a bad character who is redeemed by the quiet forgiveness and suffering of the good fairy and the misguided fairy always has to do some penetential (I can't spell tonite) act in order to redeem his status in society, usually correcting his wrongs in the first place. I found this only at Angelicum Academy.

Thanks,

HOlly
