Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was reading Elizabeth's blog and saw that you are using IPODs with the unabridged books?

I was wondering were do you upload (or get) your books for the IPODs? This sounds like a wonderful idea for storing good books but I didn't know you could do this on an IPOD just tapes or CDs.

Audible.com is a good source for audiobooks that are ipod-compatible. Audible works with other portable player formats too and can be burned to CD.

My husband's Palm Pilot has an MP3 player. Our library has a relationship with a couple on providers where we can download audio books, for free. Some can be burned to CD, (which is what we used to do before we knew how to use the Palm Pilot feature ). It might be worth checking into at your local library.

We got a gift subscription to audible.com for Christmas. That's all I've used so far.

I hope no one minds me bumping up this topic to post this, rather than starting a new thread.

I have a Creative mp3 player that I use a lot for audiobooks downloaded from our library. But we have some books on CD ourselves, and some are only available at the library on CD and I'd like to burn them and sync them onto the player. When I tried this before with The Hobbit, I ended up with a bunch of files titled Track 1, and a bunch titled Track 2, etc. in other words, each CD's tracks are put on, with nothing to distinguish them as being from disk one, etc. I am using Windows Media Player to rip the CD's. Is there any way to make it go on easily as Disc One-Track 1, Disc One-Track 2, etc. without editing each track manually? hope this makes sense. I do have Itunes installed also but it's easier to use WMP.

There is a program that dh uses to edit file names (a sophisticated tag editor), and there is a basic one built into Windows Media Player. ITunes has a good one too, but it may not be compatible with Creative products. Either way, I think it needs to be edited by hand.
