Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I use a ipod/iPad app called Book Crawler (I like being able to access my book database while at a bookstore).

For mass market books it offers the ability to scan or otherwise enter the book's ISBN and have the book details retrieved from online which is a great time saving.

Books can be organized by collection or a number of other attributes as well.

Leocea,
I used Book App which is an app on my fone. I think theres a free version available plus another, slightly more sophisticates version available or a nominal charge at the app store.

U use ur fone to scan barcodes and it then pulls up a description of the book along w all the info u wd find on a card in a card catalog. If theres no barcode, u can do other searches or even create your own description, all of which can then be stored in your own library file. There is a "notes" section where i then put info about where I keep the book (eg KM -kitchen mystery section, SR school room, SRLS School Room Living Sci or SRHF historical fiction or F or Ref or whatever etc etc etc. I have my own abbrevs which work well for us, but u can obviously note whatever u like, however u like it!

Very easy to edit and use (& kinda fun & wierdly satisfying zapping the barcodes to pull up the books lol). Im sure there are programs that provide better search mechanisms, but for our library needs it has worked very well

It is especially helpful in keeping me from amassing duplicates AND in filling out series. All too often I would pick up series of certain authors at book sales or Good Will-then go home to discover I already HAD X volume but in fact needed Y volume. This app has really helped eliminate that kinda overlap. Also easy to keep track of books loaned out.

If you are a Mac user, Bookpedia is excellent! Carry your collection with you on your i-phone/pod. And I think it is around $25 for the whole package.

Google Bookpedia for a full list of its features!

Best wishes!
