Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Last year we read Bartholomew's Passage daily during Advent and the kids (and I) really enjoyed it.
Are there any suggestions for a book similar to this? Of course, I wonder about Jotham's Journey, but there must be other choices out there??

Have you seen Destination Bethlehem? It's written by a Catholic mom and daughter. It's enjoyable.

I was remembering this thread which mentioned several times The Christmas Mystery. I thought that story was enjoyable, and it was broken down to have something read everyday.

We got Jotham's Journey, Bartholomew's Passage, and Tabitha's Travels this year. Christian Book is selling the three of them together.

Coming back to say that I just pre-read Destination:Bethlehem and I loved it!! This is an excellent choice for a read-aloud for school-aged children. The book really makes the story of Jesus' birth come alive.

The book follows two boys, both around 10 years-old, as they each travel with their families to Bethlehem for the census. It tells the story of the encounters they have with Joseph, Mary, and eventually baby Jesus.
