Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any fans of Esther Averill's books out there?

We recently read Jenny Goes to Sea, and the kids really enjoyed it. It continued our "around the world" theme nicely-
plus any story with cats or other animals is always popular here

I have not seen much of this author's work, but our library has several of the books in the Cat Club series. Oh- and my dc were tickled that their old friend Pickles the FIre Cat makes an appearance in the Goes to Sea book. That was pretty fun...

We are big fans! We own Jenny's Moonlight Adventure, Jenny and the Cat Club, Jenny Goes to Sea, The Hotel Cat, The School for Cats and of course The Fire Cat.

My oldest loved these in first grade as read alouds and now my second grader is enjoying them as part of her independent reading (big sister is re-reading them herself )!

We were introduced to sweet Jenny Linsky by a fellow homeschoolers when we started our journey. We're missing Jenny's Birthday Book and Captains of the City Streets (probably will appeal to my boys soon).

So far they have just been great to read and enjoy. I was actually thinking of using Jenny Goes to Sea as a living book for a geography study with the boys in a few years, I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it.
