The early Gordon Korman books are a lot of fun. I absolutely loved them and still occasionally reread the ones I own.

I've not read most of his later works (after about 1991 going by his website biblography) so I can't comment about those other then I've read varying opinions about them.

BTW the publisher reissued a number of his earlier works updating the technology used (for example listening to a CD player instead of walkman). Fortunately it's been just a bit silly rather then actually harming the stories.

I have read a few Gordon Korman books. No More Dead Dogs is a family favorite. It's pretty harmless (and lots of fun) except for a few references to a lying Dad's tall tales and a secondary character's attempt to make herself attractive via a teen magazine's suggestions (which are clearly silly - but this character does get crushes on boys and tries to use makeup and conversational techniques to attract them). Some of his later books should be pre-read (the ones about the son of the Mob, for ex.).
