Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The two "little house catholic series" books by Anne pellowski - First Farm in the Valley and Winding Valley Farm- has anyone ready them? My boys love the little house series but my libraries don't have these books so I can read them yet... Are they suitable for boys? Are they as interesting as the little house series??

What about the other little house series- the Martha years, Charlottes years, etc... Would these be suitable for boys as well

thanks!!

Yes, very enjoyable. There are actually more books in the series (covering more generations) - 5 books, I think, but Bethlehem Books has just published the the two so far. I was looking for the chronological list I had seen before but not finding it. I'll keep looking. I think they are good for the whole family.

Some old threads:

Love2Learn has this review of the first one.

Melissa Wiley's Little House prequel books are pretty universally enjoyed here on the board. The one's by the other authors, mixed reviews. There are quite a few old threads - too many to find - where the books are discussed if you are interested in searching older thread reviews as well.

I don't remember the exact order, but the other books in the series are Willow Wind Farm, Stairstep Farm, and Betsy's Up and Down Year. Both my kids enjoyed the series!
