Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just blogged about this on our family blog, but I thought y'all would enjoy hearing about these books we read today by Christina Bjork -- all, unfortunately are OOP, but check your library; they're worth a hunt:

  • Elliot's Extraordinary Cookbook -- lots of great recipes and information about cooking with a delightful story woven through
  • Linnea's Windowsill Garden -- about taking care of houseplants (including growing from orange seeds, melon seeds, etc)
  • Linnea's Almanac -- a year's worth of nature journaling in one spot!

Enjoy!

Mary, I *love* Linnea's Almanac, and I just remembered our library has a copy. I'll have to check it out this weekend ~ and dream about spring !

We love the Windowsill Garden book and the cookbook - lots of good activity ideas.

Another book by Bjork that we like is Vendela in Venice - beautiful art work, fun story about a young girl again, info about Venice and St Mark.
