Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello!
I am just starting my 2 kids (2nd and 4th grade) on the Wordly Wise 3000 books (3 and 4). I only purchased the student books. Now I wonder if I should have also purchased the teacher guides. I already plan to get the answer key. It takes me too long to correct their work!

So, my question is: Are the student books enough? Would I use the teacher guides? The TGs are $35 each!

Peace,

Lynette dd9 and ds7

These must be a different version of Wordly Wise? I think the ones we use have answer keys in the back of the workbook.

I just started my boys on these as well and have decided to order the answer books for the same reason as you
For me, I think the answer guide will be enough... and $4 sure beats $35!!

I guess it depends on the approach you want to take. Definitely use the answer guides no matter - trying to correct by going through it yourself takes a disproportionate amount of time, IMHO. We've always just used the answer guide, sometimes the test book. Save the answer keys from older kids, though, so you don't need to keep buying the same thing over and over (in my disorganization I think I've come to own 3 or 4 copies of some of the answer keys ). The approach we've taken is to just do the exercises, and if someone has really given an off-the-wall answer, we have a fairly casual conversation about why the "correct" answer is something else. Some people use the books for spelling and deeper word study. If you were doing that or something else, then you might want the teacher guide. Can you find more details about the benefits of that approach (or even how they approach it so that you would need such an expensive resource)? Maybe online or if you call a company that sells the materials? Actually, after using WW3000 for at least 15 years, I've never even encountered a teaching guide!

Peace,
Nancy

Thanks everyone so much for the advice. This is our first year homeschooling so I'm still full of questions (and probably always will be).

Since we already do CHC for language and spelling, I will be ordering the WW3 answer keys only.

Peace,

Lynette
