Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've done a search and it doesn't look like anyone has really read these books..

Adventure with Sister Philomena, Special Agent to the Pope:

Lost in Saint Peter's Tomb
Break-In at the Basilica

and NEW #3

Curse of the Coins

We got them and they're quite fun. We're excited that the next one is out... though it'll probably have to wait for Christmas

Jodie -- I never heard of these ... what reading level and would they make great family read-alouds? They really sound wonderful!

ETA: I found them on Amazon:
Lost in Peter's Tomb is book 1
and
Break-in at the Basilica is book 2

The "about this book" says they're aimed at 7-12 year old readers and sound like a great read-aloud to subsitute for the one we're reading now which is really (it's a history supplement about Cartier and it looked so good but is so .... not!)

I think you could do them as a read aloud.. I enjoyed reading them myself (pre-reading before giving them to my daughter) and they'd be interesting to both the boys and girls here.

and yes my 11 yr old daughter is the one that's so excited. I got the first 2 a while back so she probably started them at 10yrs.

I found them intriguing because of the "Catholic Culture" they're immersed in.. snippets about things like relics.. things that as a convert I may not really have heard of..

They remind me somewhat of the Cat Chat CD's.. have you seen/heard those? the family cat is the narrator and there's songs and little stories. My kids love those too. I transfer them to my mp3 player and we listen to them in the car.

I'm excited about these, too, so thanks for the suggestion. I had seen theis company before but your enthusistic recommendation sold them. I think my 12 yo daughter would really enjoy them.
