Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't really know anything about these books, but I have heard good things about them. Which ones would you reccomend for a 9 year old who doesn't enjoy reading much?

My 11 year old son just finished Tree in the Trail (using the map from Beautiful Feet). He enjoyed it quite a bit, and it led us on a side trip to the mission system and Spanish exploration in the New World.   We just started Paddle to the Sea today (using the map also), and it looks promising. My kids liked Paddle to the Sea and Pagoo quite a bit. I'd say that Paddle to the Sea was the one that started our love of all things Holling C. Holling.

My dd did Paddle last year and loved it. This has inspired me to pull it out again for my 8 yo ds.

All of 'em! I am a huge fan of the Geography Through Literature Set!!! The map time breaks up the reading, and the guides provide built in rabbit trails and how much to read and when from each of the books.

Or, if you just want to let him have at the books - they'd be so neat just set out in a basket. Really tempting for any boy - lots of neat little intricate illustrations on the sidebars of each page. You truly can't go wrong I don't think.
