Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies,

I wasn't sure which forum to post this question, but thought I'd start here.
I'm in planning mode for the coming year and we are finally going to do Shakespeare! I've been inspired by so many of you, and recently by Alice's blog on a Midsummer Night's Dream. That's the play we will begin with.

My children's ages are 11, 9, 9, and 3. I am looking for books/resources that enriched your Shakespeare study and made it come alive for your children? I was wondering if there were somewhere some printable paper dolls to help us keep track of all the characters? Does such a thing exist?

Grace and Peace!

Hi Ana,

If you do a search on Shakespeare, there are some wonderful old threads with lots of good stuff. We love Bruce Coville's Shakespeare picture books. We also enjoyed the Claymation Shakespeare DVDs based on Leon Garfield's book. They are available through Netflix.

Hope it all goes well!

Ana,

There is a Shakespeare section on the Mater Amabilis site. I don't know if you'll find it useful but you might want to give it a look.

God bless!

Hi Michele and Brenda,

I've been doing some searches online, but it's amazing HOW MUCH info there is! I find it all so fascinating, but still haven't found what I'm looking for. The Mater AMabilis site was very helpful, though.

I'm don't remember where I heard someone mention that they used paper dolls or maybe popsicle stick dolls to keep track of all the characters? Is there anything that helped you all with young ones when you first introduced Shakespeare?

Thanks so much!
Grace and Peace!
