Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This book is making the rounds of our homeschool group and it was lent to me Friday. It discusses the four temperament types (choleric, sanguine, melancholic, phlegmatic) and how to improve yourself, how to deal with your spouse's temperament, your kids' temperament, and that of others you come into contact with. Best of all, it's written from a Catholic point of view and tells you what your strengths are (in faith) and what weaknesses you are prone to, and what virtues you may need to improve on. It's easy to read and quite entertaining as you read it and say, "That's exactly me!" and "so that's why my husband does that!"

I have learned already that my husband needs lots of praise, and I have a tendency to criticize to I need to work on that. If I use what I read in this book, it has the potential to make our family much happier. I highly recommend this book (Amazon.com has it for $11 by the way).

The authors are Art and Laraine Bennett.

Love,
Kelly in NC

Kelly,
You might enjoy this thread. Laraine Bennett was kind enough to stop by and discuss the book with us.

Elizabeth, I'm trying to get pages 2 and 3 of the old thread to load and I keep getting a blank screen. Is it just me?

Bummer. I've tried several times now, and it never loads. Maybe its just too big a page or something (we don't have dsl available where I live).

Thanks, Jenn.
