Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am currently rereading Secrets
by Kristen Heitzmann.

I read the series a few years ago and now am reading them again.
The stories are "Catholic suspense/mystery romance", if such a thing exists, LOL.
I love the Catholic twist to her stories- something that you don't find much in this genre.

The first one is set in Sonoma valley... a good summer read

My mom just gave me Freefall, but I haven't picked it up yet. Think I will, now, though!

Yes, that is the first one.   I wish I could lounge by a pool while I reread it- as if that is ever going to happen

That is one I haven't read yet, but I just picked it up from the library. That will be next on my list.

Just finished a book my sister recommended: Guernica. It is a novel based on the German bombing of Guernica before WWII. Picasso's painting "Guernica" memorialized this terrible decimation of the innocent civilians of this undefended town, and raised the world's awareness of the Nazi threat. A good beach read, not difficult, depicts traditional Basque life and faith, and the people's efforts to continuing living their lives after the bombing. I understand they may be making a movie based on the book.
