Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for more spiritual direction and was wondering if you have a spiritual director. How did you "find" a spiritual director ? Is this a help?

I feel like I am still floundering after our move 20 months ago...

Leonie,
Do you have a retreat center near yu?
Perhaps your church knows of one. The retreat center usually has a list of spiritual directors.

One has to surf around for a good spiritual director. A "good" SD will know if your personalities are the right "fit".

A would humbly suggest, from my own personal experience, to proceed with great caution on this matter. When we are looking too hard we often convince ourselves that something is the right fit. I think the best thing to do is to pray for a guide and allow God to provide that need with the right person, at the right time. Literally, ask God to give you this spiritual guide and then put it out of your mind.

It is helpful if your spiritual director is a priest so you can also go to confession to him.

Definitely - I am such a square that this was my only thought.
