My daughter just asked me: "I know May is for Mary, and June is for the Sacred Heart, what is July for?" And I don't know! For that matter, except for December; I don't know what the other months are "for" either. I'm sure someone here can help me out! And is there a specific Catholic reference for this tradition of what month is for what?

July is dedicated to The Precious Blood. There are monthly dedications, but some vary according to source.
January: Holy Name of Jesus
February: Passion
March: St. Joseph or Holy Family
April: Holy Eucharist
May: Mary
June: Sacred Heart
July: Precious Blood
August: Immaculate Heart of Mary
September: Queen of Martyrs, Our Lady of Sorrows, Holy Angels or Holy Spirit
October: The Rosary
November: Holy Souls in Purgatory
December: Holy Infancy, Immaculate Conception or Nativity

There's also a tradition of dedicating each day of the week:
Dedication of the Weekdays
Sundays......Holy Trinity
Monday........Souls in Purgatory / Holy Spirit
Tuesday.......Guardian Angels
Wednesday...St. Joseph
Thursday.......The Holy Eucharist
Friday............The Precious Blood
Saturday........The Virgin Mary

Jenn, is this just in the month of July, or all year round? If it is all year round, different devotees to particular saints may also have traditional days dedicated to them.
I didn't know for example, that Tuesday was the main day for Guardian Angels, but as a devotee to St Anne, I know Tuesday is also for her and my mum, who loves Saint Anthony, tells me that Tuesday is also his day too.
Thank you for the listing,...Holy Souls on Monday, we love the Holy Souls, so it would be nice to do something special for them on that day in particular.

While I think of it, my mum gave me years ago a beautiful "Mothers Manual" of prayers and it came from the Sister Adorers of the Precious Blood in NY.
I had never seen such beautiful prayers for mothers - it is certainly worth making inquires about - it is not just prayers to the precious blood, other prayers that I had never came across before, some really beautiful conscrations of your children, one the Precious Blood in particular.
If you do have a special devotion to the Precious Blood or wish to do something special in the month of July, I recommend this comprehensive booklet.

This is the general listing I found in some prayers books, but I'm sure it's different other places. You're also right, some people dedicate days to certain devotions or saints.
