Does anybody know where to buy these stories? They are usually at NACHE but they don't look like they'll be there this year.

I used to buy them through "Dumb Ox" catalogue, Elizabeth, but I do not think Dumb Ox is currently in business. Still, it might be worth giving them a call to find out:
Dumb Ox Press
10201 Grove School Road
Beloit WI 53511
608-879-9400

You can order them from Immaculata Bookstore. It says on their website that they are the exclusive distributors of the tapes.

I just got checked: The website is not working right now, but the phone number is.
I haven't heard these tapes before -- can anyone tell me about them?
Thanks,
Jen

I was able to get them the last time from St. Francis Books.
We're big fans of them at our house but I'll mention that some are better than others. Also, they are sometimes hard to hear & the acting is not "Academy Award Winning" by any means. The Glory Stories are of much higher quality but they don't go deep enough for our kids.
Our favorites are about St. Anthony Mary Claret, St. Joseph Moscati, St. Dominic Savio, Blessed Margaret of Castello, St. Raphael, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Francis Cabrini, St. Gerard Majella and St. Margaret Clitherow.

Thanks for the info, Brenda. I think I will order a few (we really like the Glory Stories too.)
I checked St. Francis Books. The prices are in Canadian, but I think they still work out to be higher than Immaculata. They shipping might be higher too, from Canada, but I don't know.
Anyway, I called Immaculata and they immediately returned my call -- the website is down (they are changing providers/webmasters) but you can still order using their toll-free number.
FWIW,
Jen

Jen,
I checked the St. Francis site and had a hunch the prices were higher because they're in Canada. What do the Immaculata prices look like? I kind of want to know before I call. I think I'll just go with Brenda's list to start.

I rec'd a flyer from Immaculata a few weeks ago. I can't find it right now. But they have redone some of them and also added a couple of new ones. I think one of them they have redone is St. Gerard. They are making them on CD's the use to only have tapes. Our family loves them. They are not "Hollywood" productions but they make great stories for car trips. Sorry I wish I could find my flyer.... I am always misplacing things and then finding after the fact.

On Immaculata they are listed (as of May 2006) at $7.95 each. (I got the information from a google-cache of the webpage.
Hope this helps,
Jen

We have some of these tapes. They are nice; but I prefer the ones put out by St. Luke Productions, as the tape quality and the acting quality seem better to me. Despite the difference in quality that I noticed, I would probably still buy Regina Martyrum tapes.

Regina Martyrum is now releasing all of their new productions on CD. They sound much better. Their early stuff was a bit rough around the edges (1994'ish) but they have tremendously improved through the years. What I like is the vast selection they have about various saints and more. They are edifying while being entertaining. They're kinda like the old radio plays in a way...
Their website is active and has a catalog of all their productions.

Hi Elizabeth,
You can get them all on tape from St. Francis Books but they are coming out with them on cd. The 1st 5 are available from All Catholic Books.
Hope that helps!

I just ordered these from allcatholicbooks.com. Thanks, Brenda for letting us know! I can tell these will be wonderful audios to listen to on our roadtrip at the end of next month and maybe we'll save one or two to listen to when we have a quiet with the new baby in January!

Yes, those are the St. Luke Productions tapes. I think you may be able to buy them all as a set, at least we did a few years ago to give as a gift.

I am glad to see this. When the discussion of the (un)availability of the Regina Martyrum tapes came up, I asked Mark at All Catholic Books if he would consider carrying the cds/tapes. Mark said that he would contact RM to see if it would work out -- sometimes these things don't work out because of drop shipping issues. I guess it is a "go" though!
P.S. Maybe this encourage us all to ask All Catholic Books to carry items they don't carry at present, but would like to see "on their shelves."
