I am hoping someone can help -
I am searching the internet for a marian consecration prayer to be said by a married couple at Our Lady's Altar at the end of the wedding.
The aunty of this couple being married this coming Saturday (U.S Friday time) and has given me this job and I cannot find ANYTHING on the web!
So I am panicing! Does anyone have one or been to a wedding where one was read recently and could get a copy? Or is this particular prayer in a proper church missal (like a pre-natal or post-natal blessing?)
Thank you for reading!

Anne, I'm a bit confused. When the couples I know consecrate themselves to the BVM, it's in private. Usually after communion they go to the statue of Mary, present flowers and then pray their prayer. As our statue was the Holy Family, we dedicated our marriage to the Holy Family. But it was in private, while music was being played. There was nothing "official" in the Roman Ritual before Vat II either.
I have looked through my books and holycards for a marriage consecration. I have one prayer in mind, but I can't seem to locate it. Sorry! I'll keep looking.

All of the weddings I've been to it has been silent, also. (it is very common in Hispanic weddings). I've never heard one said aloud.

Sorry I haven't worded that well! - they don't have a prayer to say at all at present and need it before the wedding, we said it ourselves at our wedding but that was 12years ago and I don't know how we got or who got it for us at the time.
I wasn't sure if it were like the pre-natal blessings or not but thanks Jenn for clearing that up - just need a copy of a prayer that could be said - I am so surprised that I could not find one on the net as it is not a totally unknown practise!

It's not exactly what you asked for but...
CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY TO THE SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY
Most holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
united in perfect love,
as you look upon us with mercy and caring,
we consecrate our hearts, our lives, our family to you.
We know the beautiful example
of your home in Nazareth was meant to be
a model for each of our families.
We hope to have,
with your help,
the unity and strong,
enduring love you gave to one another.
May our home be filled with joy.
May sincere affection, patience,
tolerance and mutual respect be freely given to all.
May our prayers be filled with the needs of others,
not just ourselves,
and may we always be close to your Sacraments.
Bless those who are present,
as well as those who are absent,
both the living and the dead;
may peace be among us
and when we are tested,
grant us the Christian acceptance of God's will.
Keep our family close to your Hearts;
may your special protection be with us always.

PRAYER OF CONSECRATION OF OUR MARRIAGE TO THE IMMACULATA
O Immaculata, our merciful Mother, our life, our sweetness and our hope, on this day we give praise to God because He has chosen to elevate our love to a sacrament. We desire that You always be at our side, guiding, directing, and sustaining us so we may imitate Your love of Christ.
The mission which God is entrusting to us--to walk united with each other--to be instruments of His love in the procreation and formation of children--is a special calling and will have its trials and difficulties. In times of temptation and doubt we trust You will help us to do what will please Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We place ourselves at Your feet today and consecrate our marriage to Your maternal and Immaculate Heart. In this way we are certain of obtaining the grace always to be faithful to our marriage vows, to grow in our love for each other, to accept children as a gift of God, and to become instruments in Your Immaculate and most merciful hands for the salvation of the world. Amen.

Thank-you Helen! I have read it over the phone to their aunt, she thinks it is perfect!
Thanks Jen, one for us at home! I was looking for a good one the other day - the angels must have been reading both our minds!
This is the wedding I will be singing at - and stressing over! so I will get to hear them in person on the day and I am sure they will be very happy with this beautiful version.
(4RealLearning here! Couldn't find it on the world wide net but could in this special haven. )
