Does anyone have special plans for this year? I am trying to keep things simple to what has worked well in years past.

We will be using Lydia's beautiful Lenten calendar:

Also, I enjoyed using Maryan's Lenten calendar she posted a few years ago

A Lee in the Woudes Lenten Calendar

I copied her format and made a google doc using this year's dates if anyone else needs a last minute, easy calendar and format for keeping track of little sacrifices and offerings:

I also plan to use our print outs from Jenn's Lenten flip book here for daily reflections and readings.

I don't know if Jenn has plans to update it for 2016, but I don't find it too difficult to reuse the same pages and just shuffle things around a bit. I have never printed it out new each year.

Also, I'm waffling a bit since we always lose steam on following through, but I think I will also do a jar of sacrifice beans again just because it really is so simple that it isn't a huge loss if it flops, lol.

I have signed up for the Best Lent Ever Program with Matthew Kelly.
I did the Best Advent Ever program in December, and- wow. I am still pondering the things I learned then.

Also, I have been signed up for awhile now for the weekly video from Ascension Presents. In the past couple of weeks Fr. Mike Schmitz has talked about indulgences, Lent and just today Ash Wednesday. I think his Ash Wednesday talk is one of the best I have ever heard on this topic.

Lindsay, thanks for mentioning my flip book. Last year I updated display so that it's complete for every year. I do have a supplement for feast days. The Annunciation is moved outside of Lent, to April 4, so I have Chair of St. Peter and Solemnity of St. Joseph.

Yes, Jenn! Thanks for posting. I realized when I pulled out my flip book to set it out a short while ago that I had forgotten about your updates and only had to find the correct Sunday Cycle to replace the old one. In past years, I had just modified the date so I wouldn't have to reprint, but you fixed all that, and I did print new copies when you did.
