Has anyone else read Blessed José: Boy Cristero Martyr yet?

We just finished it in our Morning Basket and my 8,10, and 12 year old boys just loved it; they begged me not to stop after every single chapter.

Often, books that are self-published seem to be of a lower quality than those in the traditionally published world, but this one is an exception (okay, I did find a couple typos... but don't let that stop you!). The story was really, really well told by Fr. Kevin Williams and it was so inspiring from start to finish.

All my boys seemed really moved by the truth of the tale and that the account of his martyrdom wasn't shied away from at all. Included are photographs from the life of José Sanchez del Rio.

It was such a great reminder of why we homeschool... just to drop everything for a couple hours to read this faith-building story nonstop. Then to have a discussion about it afterward.

I highly recommend it, especially if you have boys!
