Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ladies,
At our house I do morning pray as the only adult in the home at that time. Lunch is a family said prayer and dinner is rotated around the table with a prayer request from Samaritan Ministries for a specific person always concluded by dad.

At lunch we try to make it a singy-catchy tune. Right now we are doing: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, thank you God for feeding me. Everyone sings along and it's great for getting the 3 yr old involved.

I am looking for a new tune this one is getting old and to routine. anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
Misty

How about praying the Angelus? That's an official noontime prayer that we say at lunch time. It's not a singy type prayer but a midday prayer nonetheless.

We pray the Angelus, too, and have for years. Even little children pick it up quickly.

You might also sing the "noon" verse (verse 2) of "Lord of All Hopefulness." The tune is the same as "Be Thou My Vision," which is easily YouTube-able if you don't know it, and children seem to love it -- it's a simple, but really beautiful, traditional Irish tune.

I have never seen the Lord of All Hopefulness. It's beautiful. Thanks you I may use that! The Angelus is also, thou I think the shorter one is better fitted for us.

chanting Prayer Idea was a thread I posted to sing the Angel of God prayer.

And you could sing the refrain of Immaculate Mary in the Lourdes way for a quick praise to Mary.

Right now we are working on expanding our prayers in more appropriate older prayers--trying to unite with the liturgy and universal Church, but it's all baby steps.
