Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just have to post our St. Therese story, since she is so awesome, along with having a wicked sense of humor.

Of course, St. Therese just had her feast day on Oct. 1. I always like to retell my dc the story of the pink roses on that day.

When my dd was very sick a few years ago and things were circling darkly down hill, I prayed all the time, and St. Therese was one of the saints I beseeched daily for help. After a few months, I was fed up one day and said, "I know you hear me, St. Therese. Where are the roses for dd?". (St. Therese is known to send roses as a sign that prayers are heard.).

The next day at church, which was a Thursday, we walked past the statue of Mary, and there on the floor were not a dozen, not two dozen, but at least 3 dozen roses, in an eye popping shade of bright pink! This almost neon shade of pink just happened to be dd's favorite color at that time.

Anyway- so I'm telling this story on Oct 1, like I usually do, and ds looks skeptical and says yeah, right, stuff like that doesn't really happen, etc.
I told him that he is very like St. Therese, very passionate and dramatic, and that she has his number and has her eye on him. I got more: yeah, sure, Mom, whatever.

ha ha- the *very next day* we were walking through a store and walked passed a display. There on the floor were not a dozen, not two dozen, but over three dozen roses in the same jolting shade of pink we had seen in the church years ago. Ds cruised right passed it, not even noticing the roses on the floor (I mean, really- why would a store have a display of roses on the floor?), but I pulled him back and said, "Guess who?".

His eyes just about fell out of his head! I just had to laugh. St. Therese definitely showed him!
