What are some of your best ideas for gifts for First Holy Communion for girls?
(If you know of a past thread on this, which no doubt there have been, please link-up!)

The Vision books- is there a particular saint that is special for this girl?
A book about her saint is a nice gift.
My dd last year received a FHC dress for her 18 inch doll that she really liked - it was from a relative who bought it on Etsy. So she and her doll both had their dresses.
She also liked a necklace from Betsy at Immaculata Designs and a little, pretty prayer book that a grandparent gave her.

I gave our niece, dh's goddaughter, one of those wooden painted saint statues of her patroness. I don't know how much she liked it, but *I* would have
I've also given JennGM's favorite book (at least I think this is the one Jenn likes and I gave) about Blessed Imelda, Her Dream Came True. It is available used on Amazon, and the girl I gifted was so taken with the book, I'm sure it never bothered her a bit that the book was used!
For both boys and girls, I've given a book and then a pouch with golden dollar coins (like the Sacajawea dollars) instead of a check or regular cash. Then we include a little card with the passage about the parable of the talents. Somehow, a pouch of gold coins is a little more delightful for a young child than plain money I tied it with a ribbon onto the book.

Thanks Melinda for the kind recommendation.
I wanted to add that I am happy to do custom requests for FHC. I feel very blessed by God to be able to be apart of this special sacrament!
I also craft chaplets that are wonderful for First Holy Communion and for every Communion after.

Lego Rosaries are a great gift for kids that age.

There have been a few threads that might give some other ideas:
Gifts for FHC
FHC Gift Ideas
First Communion gifts for dd
Need First Holy Communion Gift Ideas
First Communion gift ideas needed
Unique first communion gift
Things I gave to my son or he received:
bible
prayerbook,
specially crafted rosary and a tenner from Ruth.
San Damiano Cross
Small icon of the Good Shepherd
All these he uses on a regular basis. I do wish I could find a children's missal that was good. The prayerbook he received is outdated with the new translation in place.
I've made little calligraphy keepsakes of their communion day, I've also done little cross-stitch keepsakes of the date.
I'm knitting a little capelet for my niece who is receiving this year. It will be white that she can wear over her dress. The church gets cold.
Lindsay did mention my favorite FHC saint book, "Her Dream Came True". A wonderful book! I'm not as fond of the Windeatt version, but that one is in print.
I have to mention my favorite coloring books/catechism stories by Father Francis. Father Francis Coloring Books.

Oh, I did a search after posting here and I've been looking at Ruth's rosaries for Confirmation gifts (got 2 this year and 1 I didn't buy yet but promised because I was having trouble finding what I wanted and could afford).
I need to figure out what to get my son for FHC too.
