Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

On Confirmation
This book looks very interesting. I don't recall it being mentioned before here, so I thought I might ask around if somebody knows it...

This little book looks so lovely - alone the pictures! I am definitely getting this for my youngest, who will receive Our Lord for the first time in April.

Sometimes I just type in an author I really like in the amazon search spot and see if something interests me. Since Mother Mary Loyola books are not always available to me here in Germany, it is worth looking every now and then.

I was thinking how I wish the little book was a hard cover and now I read that there is one available at the publishers...

A small, family owned company, St. Augustine Academy Press has taken on the work of republishing all of Mother Mary Loyola's works.

Here is The Little Children's Prayer Book by M. Mary Loyola - in hardback. It is small enough to tuck easily into a Mass bag. We have one, and my littles really enjoy it. High gloss pages, beautiful images.

We discuss St. Augustine Academy Press and their reprints some on this thread - scroll down some to get to the pertinent discussion. But this should give you some sense of the company, and how others feel about their reprints, some of which are not completely re-typeset, but rather are photocopies of originals.

AND....finally....yes, we do have The Soldier of Christ and my older kids loved it! It's a wonderful book for Confirmation prep, or even for Confirmation follow-up, which is how I used it with both my older kids.

It's wonderful that a few of Mother Loyola's books are being made available to you in Germany, Stephanie! Take a look at St. Augustine's website because then I think you'll get a better sense of how they've handled the reprinting of some of her books, and then when you're on Amazon in Germany, if you see that the publisher is St. Augustine Academy Press, you'll know what to expect.

Hope that's a help! I am a huge fan of Mother Loyola's works, and have almost all the reprints that St. Augustine Academy Press has offered. They have really enriched and deepened our understanding of our faith. For Lent, the older children and I have taken on Forgive Us Our Trespasses, and I cannot tell you how enriching it has been! And how much deeper and more serious our devotion to and preparation for the Sacrament of Confession has become as a result. Very meaty, but so worth the time to dig in! Those are my thoughts anyway!

Thank you, Jen! The last book on confession is also available to me here. Decisions, decisions...
