Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Holy Moly!

I've volunteered to teach our upcoming Sunday School on the Holy Family - and all I've got right now is a picture for the kids to colour.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to present this to preschool children?

THANK YOU!!!

Talk about family in general. Who is in their family? Then move on to share about the Holy Family - who was in that family.

Use models from a nativity to show each of the members of the Holy Family. It would be really neat if you could get a large nativity - the one's parishes have. Eye catching visuals are always nice.

Then another idea is to talk about (or enact as a little play or puppet show) the episodes of family life of the Holy Family from scripture - since there are only 3 it won't be too much - Nativity, Visit of Magi/Flight to Egypt, Finding of Jesus in Temple.

Simple preschool craft idea:
Mary, Joseph, Jesus from the printable nativity at Catholic Icing.

MaryM, the class went great! A whole 6 kids showed
But the atmosphere was relaxed, making for an ideal learning lesson.
Thanks again!
