Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was planning on starting this http://www.amazon.com/Bible-History-Textbook-Testaments-Cath olic/dp/0895556928
book with dd10(almost 11) next week. (We use Seton Religion for Young Catholics for our main catechism.)

I was wondering if anyone here had a CM-friendly schedule for reading and narrating this book. I see about 100 lessons - would a lesson a day be too much with the Seton? Would it be better to alternate? Is a year enough? What are your thoughts on implementing this book? It looks wonderful - I think I may read it along with dd! Dd just finished reading-and-narrating Marigold Hunt's 1st Christians/Catholics. I know it was a bit below her reading level (she let me know that! , but I really wanted her to take a closer look at Acts. I see that Acts to the end of the NT is not included in the Bible History - what do you use to cover Early Church after reading this Bible History?

Is that too many questions per 1 post?

Hi there,

We use this text over two years, roughly divided between Old Testament the first year, and New Testament the second year. (As per Kolbe schedule...)

The number of pages for each little section can vary greatly, anywhere from ~ 2-7 pages in length.

Over the same two years we also study the Baltimore Cathechism. We do more written work with the Bible History text than we do with the BC.

I suppose you may need to consider how much written work you do with your main catechism. Is there much with the Seton RE?

If you would like further info on how it's divided as above, just let me know...

Emily
