Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The other day my boys were reading through all the Catholic Treasure Box Books. My 3 year old brought me Issue #1 (orange) that had music on the back and asked me to sing it.

It was the Angel of God prayer put to the Advent chant Creator Alme Siderum/Creator of the Stars of Night.

There are many examples, but this one is nice to learn the tune. Here is another. It's supposed to be flowing and not dragging or slow.

I think the idea brilliant! We are singing at our prayers, but also through the day. It's neat to hear my 3 year old singing the hymn.

And how sneaky of me, because they are ready for Advent knowing this tune!!!!

I'm now looking for some chant to match for some of our other prayers.

Oh, I thought I would mention that you can get some other "story" ideas for chant from this Story of the Redemption in Chant. If you notice the Annuniciation and Visitation are sung with the same tune, Creator Alme Siderum.

I have one other booklet that I haven't scanned by Father Adair for the mysteries of the Rosary, with the same idea. But both of these aren't exactly the same idea for prayers sung in chant.

Thank you for posting this, Jenn! My kids will love learning a tune for Angel of God! Please do post if you find any others.
