I just came across this title: Friendship with Jesus: Pope Benedict XVI Talks To The Children On Their First Holy Communion Day

Has anyone heard anything about it? I believe it will be out in October by Ignatius Press.

Yes, I have!!! This is so exciting! For the longest time it's only been available in the UK. Amy Welborn did the editing, and the text is from Pope Benedict.

I hesitated this year because of the shipping. So glad to hear it will be in the states!

While I've not heard of the book, I've known about and used this series of questions and answers from the Vatican website.

It will be nice to have a picture book rather then a printout for my next first communicant.

We have it but it stays on the shelf. It's nice enough I guess but not very useful. DS listened dutifully because he loves the Pope, but that was it. If it had been a FHC gift, we would keep it - but I just bought it and it doesn't really merit a place on our shelves permanently.

My advice would be to have a look before you buy.
