Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In the context of Catholic Mosaic, when do you read books about Bl. John Paul II? Would you pick the day he died April 2 or the day of his beatification May 1?

Also, what days would you pick for Pope Benedict? His birthday April 16?

THANKS!

Of course, it's up to you, what feels best to you. There are so many options.

But until his canonization, which might change the feast day for the General Roman Calendar, his feast day will now be October 22nd.

But the other options:
Birthday: May 18, 1920

Papal Ascension: October 16, 1978

Died: April 2, 2005

Venerated: December 19, 2009

Beatified: May 1, 2011

I always think of him connected with the feast of the Divine Mercy, so that's another place to insert his reading.

Thanks Jenn,
All those dates were bouncing around in my head and I was trying to decide which one. Obviously, there is no wrong date.

I think I might use Oct 22 for now!

BTW, Jenn, should I just PM directly to you all my questions I post here! I appreciate your thoughtful replies. I am still working through all of the links for the Catholic Hymns and Chants!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please keep posting them. I get tired of seeing my own answers...but I know a lot of people are busy and on vacation. I love seeing the variety of inputs.

Just those two questions are areas where I've have had a bit of thought and experience.
