Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am thinking about doing the Keepers of the Faith program for my children at home. I really love the life lessons and character building it offers. I've heard a few of you here talk about the Little Flowers program, and after looking into it I decided it wasn't really for us, even though it is a Catholic program for children. It seems that Keepers of the Faith is more protestant based, but I'm sure I can adjust it to meet our needs. Our home school group runs Keepers of the Faith as well, but we haven't attended any meetings as of yet. I wanted to get some opinions on what you think or know about this program to help me decide if this something I wanted to incorporate into our HS life!

One of our hs groups has been doing a Keepers group for several years now. My girls have participated the last two years and have really enjoyed it. This last year we did it co op style and each mom took a month. We worked on letter writing. We had tea time and read from Everyday Graces (the section on letter writing). One mom had a trip to a garden musuem and had the girls keep a little flower journal for the badge. Another hosted cup cake decorating at her home. Over the summer the girls earned their swimming badge at another members pool. Let's see other projects we've worked on include plenty of handicrafts (any CM followers) knitting, crochet, weaving, stamping, decoupage (sp?), latch hooking, candle making. Some outside games badges: croquet, badmington, volleyball. Some cooking as well.   Overall they've really enjoyed it and we've been able to continue the activity at home. We've spent our fall & winters working on those handcrafting projects just to improve the skill.

When the group started it wasn't geared to just catholics because there were some protestant families, but as of a few years the families that have remained are all catholic so the moms have adjusted the program to introduce more of our faith into the activities.
