I'm wondering what others favorite Latin Mass Missal is, and why. I've noticed that the Latin Mass orders of priests seem to use the 1962 missal a lot. We have the Fr. Lasance The New Roman Missal which dh had before we married, but I haven't used it much. My grandmother used the St. Andrew missal for years. I know I sometimes have trouble finding the readings for a particular Sunday in the Fr. Lassance Missal, is it just me taking getting used to it, or does anyone find another missal easier to navigate, laid out better maybe? I know some of it could be me being relatively new to the Latin Mass and calendar, having only been attending for 4 years, but I was wondering if anyone finds a certain Missal to be the easiest to use?
Any info on differences of the missals in your opinion, and why you like a certain one would be so helpful!

I purchased the Fr. Lasance missal for a Confirmation gift for one of my daughters. It was recommended by my pastor because of the pictures that serve as an aid in following along with the Mass. She really likes it.
I use an old copy (I think it's 1945) of the St. Andrew's Daily Missal. It doesn't have the pictures for following along like Fr. Lasance's, but it has great explanations. I really like the format, the information, and the prayers. My pastor also recommended it; he may have said that he uses a newer version of this missal. If I remember correctly, both of these missals do not include the names of St. Joseph and another saint in the Easter prayers, as their names were added later.
My daughter and I rely heavily on the ribbons to mark where Sundays readings are.
We have several other original old missals that we have been given by family and friends, but no one seems to use them. They include:
Roman Missal (belonged to an elderly priest who was a friend) - I have not looked at this, as it has an odor that I need to figure out how to get rid of first.
Fr. Lasance's Sunday Missal - small, convenient size, contains some of the same information as the Fr. Lasance Missal, but no daily readings.
My Sunday Missal explained by Fr. Stedman - small, convenient size with a lot of little pictures. It seems more like a student missal to me.
Saint Joseph Daily Missal - contains both color and black and white images, a liturgical calendar (circular).
If you would like additional information, please let me know.
Some of my family prefer using the paperback Latin-English Booklet Missal provided at our parish. A separate page is made available each Sunday with the readings and I think that they like the simplicity of using this booklet and the paper with the readings. I am assuming that your parish provides these aids, too.

I have several different missals for the Latin Mass:
(In order of my preference)
1945 St. Andrew Missal (which is now out of print) - This is my hands down favorite missal. Rich with explanations, history, liturgical significance...it is our favorite missal. Different people in my family prefer different missals for different reasons, and this is my preference just because of the rich explanations and prayers for each of the feast days. It's a gold mine of liturgical information and I keep one in our learning room and find that I pull it out to read about the feast of the day before I pull out anything else. We use the collects and prayers from the Mass for our copywork sometimes. The 1962 missals will reflect the changes made to Holy Week rites and liturgical year ranking (in 1960 I believe), therefore this 1945 missal will not. Cons I don't care for the cover, or the print in the missal. The cover is a hard cardboard cover rather than my preference of a soft leather cover(I find that easier to hold when I'm standing, holding a baby on hip, and trying to hold the missal open with one hand.) If you can find a copy of this missal used it's worth it.
St. Andrew Daily Missal online - This is a WONDERFUL resource for families that wish to follow a traditional missal. As I said, it is not yet completed. There are many days already added and you can click on a particular day on the calendar on the right sidebar and it will take you to that daily Mass readings and propers. If that day's Mass readings have not yet been entered, the site defaults to The First Day of Advent. It's worthwhile to bookmark and check back.
1962 Angelus Press Missal - Of all the missals currently reprinted, this is my favorite missal for everyday use because it is well laid out, the font size and type are nice, and the soft leather cover is easy to hold. The color of the pages is a creamy color which is easy on the eyes. Font is small, so be aware if you need larger print (all these missals have excessively small print, but of all of them, this missal has the clearest type.)
In the Ordinary of the Mass (the unchangeable/non-variable parts of the Mass...like the Kyrie, Gloria, Prayers at Communion, etc) I prefer this missal because it better indicates the actions of the faithful during the Mass as well as offering explanations, interior dispositions, etc. My 10 yo son and husband prefer this missal as well.
To me this is the easiest and most intuitive missal to use and follow along with the Holy Mass in the Extraordinary rite. Be aware that it is printed by Angelus Press, a printing arm of the SSPX. Without discussing the pros/cons/concerns of this, I did want you to be aware of this association for your discernment. This missal, though reprinted by Angelus Press, is a reprint of The Ideal Missal, revised by Sylvester P. Juergens, S.M., S.T.D. (copyright 1962) bearing the Nihil Obstat of Arthur Scanlan, S.T.D, and the Imprimatur of C. Eykens. It does not contain any information on SSPX. It does contain references to current code of canon law (1983) for example when discussing and instructing on the Eucharistic Fast.
1962 Missal from Baronius Press - This is a nice missal with a similar format and build as the Angelus Press Missal, thin pages, soft leather cover, etc. I used this missal for about a year before we received an Angelus Press Missal. To me, though nice, it isn't as easy to navigate around as the Angelus Press missal. It also contains less RED instruction/explanation (the what you do part). It is still a very good Sunday Missal. Also contains updated canonical regulations for things such as Eucharistic Fast. This Baronius Press edition is published in association with The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter and can also be purchased in their store.
Latin-English Booklet Missal - This is a very inexpensive little paper missal which is a true help for learning to pray the Traditional Latin Mass. Very instructional and a good introduction without spending a ton of $$. This little missal only contains the non-variable parts of the Mass, so you won't find the particular readings (Collect, Epistle, Gospel) in this booklet Missal.
The Marian Children's Missal - is a really wonderful Missal for children (and their parents  ) around or after FHC age. While not an adult missal, I thought I'd mention this one anyway because of all the children's missals I've seen, this one is quite complete and my children enjoy following it and so do I.

I hope this gives you a start, Pilgrim. I will say that it took us a good solid year to become comfortable with a traditional Latin Mass Missal (not to mention learning the Mass in the Extraordinary rite). Ebay and Abebooks often have the St. Andrews Missal and others for good prices, so you might be able to find a used missal for a good price if you were willing to wait and search a bit.
A few things that helped us learn the Missal:
** Spend 20 minutes before the Sunday Mass finding the propers of the Mass for the day and orienting the ribbons in the Missal to the right place.
** Prepare the family for the readings of the day and their significance. Here's where I find so much value in the St. Andrews Missal narratives. They're perfect for a short read aloud.
** Focus on learning one part of the Mass at a time as a family - we used and read aloud from Know Your Mass by Father Demetrius Manousos a little at a time...all together in the evenings. Just doing this helped us/me so much in using my missal effectively because I understood the Traditional/Extraordinary rite Mass better. I know that doesn't have to do with your question specifically on Missals so I hope it was ok to mention that resource.
** I started doing this a couple of years ago - I let my older children know that since I spend most of my time outside with a loud baby, I expect a narration of the sermon/homily on the way home from Mass. They pay closer attention and this has been the substance of some wonderful conversations for all of us! My husband got into it as well!!! 
BOTTOM LINE::
1962 Angelus Press Missal gets my vote for overall ease of use, and is my preferred bring in to Mass Missal.
1945 St. Andrew Missal is my overall preference for reference and the Missal I use to read aloud from during the week and before Sunday Mass. It's value lies in the history and rich explanations offered on everything from the liturgical year, liturgical year rankings...to...explanations of every liturgical season of the year and all of the feasts of the Church...and the maps...and historical notes...and doctrinal notes...and liturgical notes. Also - beautiful section on the Sacraments of the Church! Truly, this is a rich resource for any family.

Jen, your response brought many happy memories for me. My mom, Pilgrim's grandmother, wore her St. Andrew's Missal out....to the point that she had her favorite prayer pages laminated, and the missal was tied with lace and no longer able to be used by the time she passed away...Pilgrim was blessed to receive the missal, since no other family members requested it. There are many cherished memories associated with that missal, which my mother had since she converted in the late 1940's. Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed comments, which will be truly helpful while searching for missals.

Those ARE such happy and treasured memories, Servant! So...Pilgrim has a dear and treasured copy of the St. Andrews Missal already then! Wonderful! Even if it cannot be used Pilgrim, you can take a look at the richness of the missal to see for yourself. Knowing how dear Grandmother Servant-to-the-King's St. Andrews Missal was to her makes me treasure our copies of this missal all the more! I'm so glad you shared your memories of this missal!!

Thank you ladies, both of you, for your very informative responses. I currently do use the red booklets our church provides in the pews, as there is no way with the training of the Littles that we can currently follow a missal at Mass. And we are very blessed that our parish provides the proper and readings for the week on the bulletin. 
I was curious to these answers for myself, but also for my dear mother, as we were discussing Latin Missals recently, and I didn't know enough about any of them to give her good answers. I figured right that this would be the place to ask, as the wonderful homeschool Moms here give such great answers.
I think the Angelus Press Missal you mention, Jen, is the one I've been hoping to get someday. I didn't know there were 2 different 1962 Missals out there, thanks for the info! We also have Know Your Mass, I love it. Thanks for the heads up on the tie to SSPX, I did know this about Anelus Press, and am careful with them. I do so appreciate some of their traditional materials that don't have such a bent to them.
I love that I have my grandmother's beloved Missal. It is truly worn out, and many pages are missing or so wrinkled that they are unusable, and it smells terribly of some strong antiseptic, which I can't stand during pregnancy. But, there are many sweet memories of childhood with that missal as we went to Daily Mass,Mom my brothers, and our granparents. It actually took us a while to find out what kind of missal it is, when my Mom called to ask me what kind of missal it is, I had to search through the whole missal to find a wrinkled up, half piece of the title page, which I finally decifered(sp?) said St. Andrew Daily Missal!  Now that I know what a treasure this missal is, I'll have to try to bear the smell and read what pages are still able to be read!

This isn't really addressing your question, but on another thread a while back, Michelle Q recommended My See and Pray Missal, and our boys LOVE having them to follow the mass. Of course, there are no readings, but its really nice so that they can have their own missal (and avoid destroying the red ones at church, lol)

Yes, Thank you Lindsay, dd used to use this booklet/missal. I really like it too, and it's a good idea for littles ones so they don't destroy the ones at church.

We were gifted several from my grandparents (who, sadly, don't attend Mass anymore  ) that we use.
My favorite is a little one I was given by my grandmother for my First Communion (I was an adult covert, so I was in college when she gave me this). She received it as a high school graduation gift from her Catholic high school. It is called the Catholic Girl's Manual and Sunday Missal (1952). It is not a complete missal (it only has the readings for Sundays and Holy Days) but like the "red missal," it is compact and user-friendly. I love it.
My husband uses the Saint Joseph Daily Missal (1950). I use it when I go to Mass alone and like it a lot too.
And we also have the Catholic Family Daily Missal (1961), which we don't use yet. It is softcover and the Saint Joseph missal is hardcover, so my husband prefers the latter. I haven't compared the two side-by-side to tell what the differences are.
And we also have the Marian Children's Missal, thanks to the recommendations on here. It is lovely and thorough for children's use! My kids don't use it at Mass yet, but I use it to instruct them in the parts of the Mass at home. (We're doing a study of the Mass--TLM--at home right now.)
I have had the My See and Pray Missal in my Amazon cart for the last few months. Better order that!

The Mass and calendar and lectionary of 1962 is the approved form to use for the Extraordinary form. There were several changes in the 50s and 60s to the mass and calendar which is the reason for this 1962. I can't remember where I read this, but one way to know if you're using a 1962 form is to look at the canon of the Mass and see if it includes St. Joseph, which was added by John XXIII. That would be the correct form.
Finding an older missal in between 1958-1962 you will have the closest translation, calendar, and readings.
I have loads of old missals, and do lots of comparing. I agree with Jen that the St. Andrew Missal is one of my favorites, mainly because the information regarding the liturgical year is excellent. I do have a 1949, 1958, and 1962 (although the canon isn't correct) of the St. Andrew's. I find the information regarding the calendar, the Mass, the feasts very excellent reading and reference. There are some slight changes between years, but not too much. The Bible Missal that was later is greatly different, so don't get that one.
But I also have othere missals, such as the Maryknoll Missal, The Marian Missal, and St. Joseph Missal, and comparing side by side, they all have an individual pluses and minuses.

Oh, I wanted to add a thought here. It's harder to find them, but every once in a while I'll find an old prayerbook or missal. It's such a treasure to find the old bookmarks or inscriptions. I think and pray for that person who owned it. To think that they were attending Mass years ago with the same prayerbook -- it helps me think of the Communion of Saints, and how God sees us everything in an omnipresent way.
One missal I have has this most romantic inscription, I just have to share:

Oh, I can't wait to read through this! Currently I am using a Spanish/Latin missal that was my husbands Grandmother's. I like it, but would rather read an English/Latin missal.

Jen, I love your idea of praying tfor their soul when using a missal/prayerbook from a previous owner. Your comment is so like what I was struck by one day when sitting in a staircase of an old church waiting for an Epiphany party. I was struck by the thought of the thousands of souls who have received countless graces in each Catholic church, the communion of Saints became so real to me in that moment.
