Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just posted this wonderful little booklet you can print out and use. I was so moved by the daily meditations, and I think children will really respond to them.

Here's a sample, from Ash Wednesday:

Efforts

LENT is our time to get ready for Easter. Because Jesus went all alone into the desert for forty days to show us how to deny ourselves for our soul’s good, we shall spend forty days making efforts to follow His lead.

We shall make a program of what we decide to do—like this:

1. I will deny myself some of the good things I could eat.
2. I will deny myself some of my usual amusements.
3. If possible, I will go to daily Mass and Holy Communion.
4. I will make more visits to the Blessed Sacrament.

Whatever we decide to do, we must do, or we would not be loyal. Will your program for Lent please the heart of Jesus?

Say often through the day:

Now is the time my love to show.
O Jesus dear, Thy grace bestow!

Jenn, this is beautiful! Thank you so much for all your efforts to make Lent a holy time in my family.

When I printed the document, the first page printed, followed by a bunch of blank pages (from the forward through day 12) and then the rest printed beautifully. Have you had anyone else comment on this, or do you think it may just be my error? With my computer, I am unable to select just one or a few pages to test print. No worries, but if you can provide any advice I'm all ears!

Blessings to you!

I didn't print it yet, so I can't comment, but I'll look it over if there's a problem I can fix from here.

Molly, I just printed and it worked fine...not sure what might have happened to yours?

Thanks again, Jenn...I really like the little "say often throughout the day" lines at the end of each day. We may even use those for copywork in our prayer journals through Lent.

Jenn, THANK YOU for sharing this beautiful book. I am really looking forward to using it. It is so simple and yet so profound. I know we will be blessed with a more holy and serious Lent reading these lovely thoughts to the little ones each day.

I just checked and couldn't find that, but now I see you edited your post.

I'm glad you all like it.

My printing did the same thing---it is so weird! Hubby is working overtime, but when he gets home, I will have to have him check it out...

I just love it, thanks Jenn

Joann and Molly, can you let me know which file you used? I'll try reloading if that might help.

Also, can you not get these pages to print at all?

Jenn, I was trying (and trying and trying!) to fold it up instead of cutting the pages apart, but after working on that for a while, I realized I had it completely wrong! So it was my mistake, not yours. I think God is already preparing me for Lent by allowing me a good view of my own pig-headedness !

I used the first link, not the paginated version. Those pages (forward through day 12) did print, but with just a vertical line down the top half of the page.

Thank you (and Joann's dh) for any help with this. It is such a lovely resource and I'm excited to have it for this Lent!

I still can't get the first 12 pages to print right.... in either version. Any ideas?

Caroline, I found the problem. I had it all figured out for the pagination, but I added the front cover page which needs to be blank on the back. So if you were frustrated, it was my fault.

As far as the printing, it must be a ScribD because I'm not having a problem. Who knows, it could be your browser, your type of computer, etc. I use Windows and Internet Explorer, newest version.

What I am doing is loading the .pdf files on my blog, so you can download them from there. They should be up in a bit.

I'm having a little gathering at my house today, so I probably can't troubleshoot anything more until tomorrow. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Don't be sorry, Jenn- it is so kind of you to share this with us! We can even just read it off the computer for a few days until we get to the part we can print.
