Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My twins are making First Communion this year, and for the Religious Ed program the kids all voted on a saint to learn more about. St. Francis won, and they have asked the parents to read up about him with the kids, draw pictures, find coloring pages, etc.

So of course, my first thought was a lapbook. Can ya'll help me brainstorm some ideas for mini books?

So far all I have is:

map of Italy
mini book about St. Clare
mini book about the Franciscan Order

Thanks!

Emily,
St. Francis and St. Claire are very dear to us:)

How about:

San Damiano Cross

Story of St. Francis and the Wolf ( You could do a mini book or even just a drawing)

Pictures of the Franciscan robe

I'll keep think and come back and post some more ideas later.

Thanks!

Ok, so in addition to your ideas, here's what I have so far:

map of Italy

Copy Work Choose a prayer to copy and illustrate

St. Clare bio

St. Francis and the manger

I'll probably have them draw a Franciscan robe, or use google image and have them do a mini book about the order.
Keep the ideas coming!
