Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm hoping for book suggestions for: a baptismal present for our godson/nephew whose name is Anthony Michael. He is my sister's first child so their library is empty, oh and they attend Latin Mass.

Also for our goddaughter Brigid Rose who is making her FHC next month. Brigid is one of 12 and her family has many of the Catholic Mosaic books already. They attend the Novus Ordo mostly, but love the Latin rite. Brigid is not reading fluently yet.

I've been trying to search here but I now give up and ask for help.

Prayer for a Child is a lovely little board book that won the Caldecott years ago. It is basically a "thank you God for everything" book, one that a younger baby just starting to look a books could enjoy. It would make a nice present, maybe with a crucifix for his room?

Our sons received one of those lovely little sets for FHC that include an illustrated prayer book, a rosary, and a brown scapular. You could assemble such a kit yourself if you wanted a more "Latin" version. Maybe someone else can suggest a good illustrated prayer book with Latin prayers? My husband still has his after 40+ years!

I agree with Prayer for a Child. The illustrations are lovely and the book can be read to very small children.

I don't have any good ideas for books for your goddaughter Bridget but I followed your link and boy is she lovely. A non-book idea would be a small box (white perhaps) with some small treasures inside. Some examples I can think of are: holy cards, a small gold chalice, a white bead bracelet, a miniature book of prayers, a small figure of the infant Jesus, a coupon stating you will take her out for lunch/dinner or dessert.   I made a box similar to this for a child and found a bunch of small items in the local Catholic gift shop. The child we gave the box to several years ago still loves her box and continues to add treasures to it.

Good luck.
