Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all~

A couple months ago we miscarried and had a funeral done by a friend who is a priest, but not the pastor of our church. He traveled 45 minutes to come do the Mass for us.

At the time, I didn't even think of a stipend. My head was obviously not with me...

2 months later, I am trying to get around to this...what is an appropriate amount?

Thank you!

Maggie

I'm not sure what is appropriate - but I sing at funerals and people give me anywhere between $100 - $200.

Hope that helps.....

I was told by my parish that $50 is the usual for baptism. So, maybe...

I would think $50.00 would be about the right amount.

I play the organ and here in NE the funeral homes i have worked with advise the families as part of the planning and they write the checks. You might consider talking to them.

Our small choir usually gets $50 - $100 and I'm supposed to keep $25-50 of that for myself.   I think it is usually $50 for the priest administering the sacraments, as well.
