I have started doing this more often and am enjoying it. I am wondering, since I did the Divine Mercy chaplet at Easter time, what other ways can you use a rosary-for prayer?
Also, I have started "offering" each decade for an intention--is that OK? and can I say it after the description of the decade? Or do I offer the entire rosary only for intentions?
I am trying to figure this all out and appreciate any more info.

There is no right or wrong way to offer intentions--before the Rosary, before each decade--after the description is dandy!   

I know there are other meditations you can pray on the Rosary beads besides the four mysteries and the Divine Mercy chaplet. The St. Anne chaplet comes to mind right away.

The University of Dayton has a good site with many prayers you can pray with your Rosary beads.

Oh, another prayer you can repeat on the beads is the Jesus Prayer: "Lord, Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."   Our Eastern Catholic friends have a great devotion to this prayer and I have personally found it to be very efficacious!   

The blessings our family has received since we began our family Rosary are amazing. Our Lady's intercession is such a comfort to me, especially during hard times. Hugs!
