Does anyone know of a list (or better yet a book or packet) of art depicting the mysteries of the rosary?
It sounds like a Sister Wendy Beckett project, doesn't it?

If there isn't maybe 20 of us could each take a decade and try to find some? I have always wanted something like this.

I like that idea, Betsy. The online art sites make it so easy to find the masterpieces!

And Sara, I can't think of any right now, but surely there must be some.

That looks perfect, Maddie! I just wish it included the Luminous Mysteries.

Catholic Heritage Curricula (CHC) has Rosary prints here:
http://www.chcweb.com/catalog/shopping_cart.php
I used the Seton Art 5 for a Rosary Study during October a year ago and added in pictures for the Luminous Mysteries from the above prints.
Hope this might help.

A few years back a similar thread on this topic came up. Nicole had set up a series on her blog of famous paintings depicting the various mysteries. They are really nice though there is not a caption with artist or anything (you can tell who they are on a few if you check the image properties).
As I mentioned in the older thread I have a set of 8 1/2 X 11 pictures from Faith and Family magazine. They did a series of full page pictures for each mystery (one mystery per issue). I cut those out and had them laminated. It was really nice to have them all collected like that. Most were from famous pieces of art though the Sorrowful Mysteries were pictures from Passion of the Christ movie. I also have the Guide to the Rosary (from National Catholic Register Circle Press). It has a painting or statue illustration for each mystery as well, but it is a small book so the pictures are not large. I thought they had the work of art captioned but just checked and they don't.
This increases my desire to do an art appreciation study here following the rosary mysteries, like I did last year during Lent for the Stations of the Cross

Fr. Groeschel wrote a book entitled The Rosary: Chain of Hope and it is illustrated with 20 renaissance paintings.

Is is possible to print the Stations of the Cross pictures that MaryM posted about? I am not sure about copy right infringement. THanks!

I was given this DVD Rosary with Fine Art as a gift. We like to use the DVD to help pray the Rosary.
Many images of fine art are used during each mystery.

I have a little book called "Through the Rosary with Fra Angelico", by Domenico Marcucci, put out by Alba House. This book includes the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries. There is a similar book of the Luminous Mysteries. Also, Michael O'Brien put out a book of the three older sets of Mysteries in which he both wrote meditation texts and did paintings of each Mystery. That is pubished by The White Horse Press. I have pictures for each of the 20 mysteries that I got from Leaflet Missal, quite inexpensive, but not necessarily "fine art", more like the sort of image typically seen on holy cards (some of those probably are fine art, although I"m sure not all are; there is a certain traditional style that is used on so many holy cards; I'm sure you can imagine the type of pictures I mean).
Now, a project to find other works, not necessarily all by the same artist, sounds like a great idea!
Peace,
Nancy

We have the mysteries of the Mysteries of the Rosary prints by Bellazzi. They are beautiful 8x10 prints! We got them laminated and put each days mystery out on a stand on our family's "prayer table". The children take turns changing the picture at the start of each new mystery during the family Rosary. They love the pictures and it has really helped them to remember the mysteries on their own. You can find a set at .EWTN
We also have some 8x10 prints of the Stations of the cross possibly also by Bellazzi, but not sure. I could check if you want me to.

We use these Rosary cards from Magnificat. We typically use them on our prayer table where we light liturgically colored candles during family prayer time. We have one frame and display the card most appropriate for the feast or season.

Just scroll down to the Rosary sacrament preparation cards or check out the Rosary Rummy game. They both have all the mysteries depicted in beautiful full color art work.
Blessings, Jody
