Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A friend of mine is beginning to celebrate the liturgical year at home with her 7 kids. She loves to cook so for her birthday I would like to buy her a liturgical year cookbook. Seeing that I don't cook, what one cookbook would be a good start. If Leaflet Missal carried it it would be even better because I live not too far from their store.

Thanks!

There are a couple, but I think "A Continual Feast" is one good one.

Waverly, check out the "FAQ's - Liturgical Year Resources"

There's tons of info there.. including about cookbooks.

I have "A Continual Feast" by Vitz as well and it's a nice book.

You might also like to check out this website.. Catholic Cuisine

I also have to recommend Continual Feast. It's the first liturgical cookbook I purchased and I think it's wonderful.

I just checked Leaflet Missal's website and "A Continual Feast" isn't listed, although their store might have it.

A book they do have listed is "Cooking with the Saints" which is a very lovely book. Hardback, classical artwork of each saint and recipes with full color photos.

It's not the same as cooking through the liturgical year, but complimentary.

Oh, and I would 3rd that vote for Evelyn Vitz's book being the best in-print liturgical cookbook.

Thank you so much everyone. This is exactly what I needed to know! Leaflet Missal doesn't carry it so I think I'll order it online.
