Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone else's child working on this? My 9yo Helena kept herself busy all afternoon making her stable and creche figures. She would love to see how others have made theirs. I think a few directions were left out (translated from French or something?) and there should have been a box manger for baby Jesus and perhaps some hands for the figures! Anyhow I am posting some photos on my blog if you would like to see Helena's nativity scene. She jumped ahead to the next few weeks because she really wanted to finish it.

My 9 year old girl has been building one too. I would post pictures but we haven't gotten very far. I will see what we can do.

OK, we made the Mary and Joseph figure today. Did you find the measurements for the bodies and arms to be way too small? My kids said they looked like elves. Instead of a 3" diameter circle for the body and a 1 1/2" for the arms, we used a 6' for the body and a 4" for the arms. That seems to make the body in better proportion to the head.

Yup. I think the person writing the directions meant a 3" radius, not diameter. I first measured it out according to the directions and realized it would be microscopic. I did a 6-inch diameter for Joseph and slightly smaller for Mary.
