FOCA Would Wipe Away Every Restriction on Abortion Nationwide
This would eradicate state and federal laws that the majority of Americans support, such as:
~Bans on Partial Birth Abortion
~Requirements that women be given information about the risks of getting an abortion
~Only licensed physicians can perform abortions
~Parents must be informed and give consent to their minor daughter's abortion
FOCA would erase these laws and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future.

This was posted elsewhere, and while I know we don't have time, it would be better to actually take the time, and write a note--even--especially!--a short one to our legislators about this issue. A personal note gets more attention than a petition that may or may not ever make it to the destination we would like.
For every one person who writes/calls personally, they add a few zeros for those who feel the same way and just haven't said anything...
So take the time and write your congressmen/women...

A friend of mine who use to work for a lobbyist said that really the best written notes, the ones that get saved and acually read, are those written on personal stationary...not just typed up or even one written on notebook paper. She actually called hand-written notes on stationary paper a "commodity" for lobbyists. I don't know what I have that I can use, but I'll try to find something!

Thank you for your suggestion, Rachel.
In the past few days, my family has already written a few letters (including a letter to our parish priest). At this point, I don't consider one action better than another. ANYthing is better than nothing.

Adding this to my blogs...sigh...I can't believe this! What has our society come to! Thank you so much...Fight FOCA has given me a little hope.
I've been sick to my stomach about this...especially after reading the news online yesterday.
And KackyK, thank you for posting on writing on personal stationary for lobbyists!

Thanks. I have signed, passed it on to everyone and posted it on my facebook and blog. I have some pro-abort relatives on facebook so I hope it might cause them to pause and really find out what FOCA is all about. Only the most hard-hearted of pro-abort people would really support this if they only took an honest look.
