Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This subject title has probably been used 100 times...but I am feeling so creative today.

I have begun praying the Angelus in English with the girls and using a prayer book for families that we recently bought. I like the book in general, but the texts of the prayers are often different than the way I know them.    Of course, thee, thou and thy are translated with the word "you". But also in the Angelus it states: "I am the lowly servant of the Lord:" instead of "Behold the Handmaid of the Lord".

I am sticking with the latter, but I was wondering how other families pray.
On EWTN they pray the way I know the prayers, so I know that these other translations are not necessarily the norm.
Isn't it better to teach the children one prayer form for their life? Or does one suddenly change it when they reach a certain age?

How do you teach prayers?
